Collaboration with Honey Bean
At More Than Honey, we place great emphasis on the high quality of our products. As we work to expand our selection and look for other honeys that can stand alongside our Manuka in both flavour and quality, we carefully chose to partner with Mr. Hynek Chaloupka from Honey Bean. Thanks to this collaboration, you can now enjoy Czech acacia honey (now even our manuka) in a unique form—flavoured honey pastes with exciting taste combinations.
Beet Syrup – A Sweet Invention of Our Ancestors
Like molasses, beet syrup is one of the traditional natural sweeteners our grandmothers loved. It was used not only as a sugar substitute but also as an essential ingredient in gingerbread, sweet sauces for carp, or for dipping “peciválky” (traditional poppy seed pastries).
Today, beet syrup is making a comeback — not just for its unique caramel-like taste, but also for its nutritional value.
It’s made by slowly boiling pure beet juice, rich in minerals and natural sugars. A large portion of these beneficial nutrients remains preserved in the syrup, making it a healthier and more nourishing alternative to refined sugar.
A Tube Full of Iron, Magnesium & Natural Goodness
Beet syrup has a sweet yet earthy, caramel-like, slightly smoky flavour. This depth comes from its high content of magnesium and iron — minerals essential for muscle and nerve function, and for reducing fatigue. It also naturally contains malic, citric, and oxalic acids, which give it a pleasant tang.
The longer the syrup is cooked, the thicker and darker it becomes. This process forms melanoidins — brown pigments that give beet syrup its rich color, caramel taste, and antioxidant properties that help strengthen the immune system and reduce inflammation.
In short: beet syrup is a far better alternative to regular sugar. While it does contain natural sugars like sucrose and glucose, it’s also packed with minerals and nutrients that refined sugar completely lacks. And best of all — this plant-based delight is suitable for vegans too.
